As of this writing, I don’t allow trackbacks on the posts on the Irreality site by default. In fact, I have disabled the entire trackback facility.
I was simply receiving mountains of trackback spam, with few or no legitimate trackbacks. I couldn’t find a sensible, automatic way to filter it so that readers didn’t see it and it didn’t take up space in my site’s database. Therefore, I simply gave up and turned it off. My time is valuable to me, and trackback spam was stealing time.
