WWDC iMix

The following iMix playlists in the iTunes Store encompass music from official Apple World Wide Developer Conference events throughout the years. I started collecting songs myself in the beginning, slowly soliciting tips from other people I knew attending WWDC. More recently, I multiplied my efforts through e-mail and Twitter to capture ever-larger playlists from like-minded conference-goers.

I sincerely thank everyone who has contributed to these lists. It has been great working with you! This was especially true before the advent of Shazam and Midomi/Soundhound, when we had to work harder to figure out what was playing. And, I can’t say enough about people who have submitted tracks even when I wasn’t able to make it to sold-out WWDCs.

In 2007 and 2008, I apparently had some sort of problem updating iMixes that resulted in duplication. (This might have been around the time I discovered that iMixes were not portable — at least in any way I’ve been able to discern — between computers or iTunes Store accounts.) I apologize for any confusion this causes.

You may notice that the links to the iMixes are not affiliate links. Since so many tracks were contributed by the community, I had previously made the personal decision to eschew any sort of revenue (and the strings attached) from becoming an iTunes affiliate. That may change in the future — it has taken more work to construct these lists, particularly with iTunes 9.
